Change the configuration live

Change cluster parameters without restarting any node, with teseladb admin config or with setClusterParameter from mongosh.

Requirements

• Access to teseladb admin on a node of the cluster.

Read a parameter

teseladb admin config get teselaHistoryRetention

Change it

teseladb admin config set teselaHistoryRetention '{"seconds": 172800}'

The value of set is a document in Extended JSON. Start options, such as --cores, need the node restarted.

Check

After the change, config get returns the new value on any node of the cluster, not only on the one you asked.

Common problems

• config set fails with NoSuchKey because the parameter does not exist or is misspelled.
