Install on macOS

To develop on an Apple Silicon Mac, you install the TeselaDB binary.

Install the teseladb binary on a Mac to develop against a local node. macOS is for development, with no latency guarantees; in production, TeselaDB runs on Linux.

Requirements

  • A Mac with Apple Silicon.
  • Permission to write to /usr/local/bin or to another directory on your PATH.

Download and check the archive

Download the macOS archive from Download and check its SHA-256 sum:

Shell
shasum -a 256 -c teseladb-<version>-macos-arm64.tar.gz.sha256

Install the binary

Shell
tar -xzf teseladb-<version>-macos-arm64.tar.gz
sudo install teseladb /usr/local/bin/

On macOS the node uses I/O threads, because io_uring belongs to Linux.

Check

If the binary is on your PATH, this command prints the version you downloaded:

Shell
teseladb --version

Common problems

  • shasum says FAILED: the archive arrived incomplete or is not the published one. Download it again.
